therapists and counselors who have completed a program
with Elaine Aron on psychotherapy with HSPs. This list is from Elaine Aron's website. She writes, "All in this list have attended a course on the subject or studied and passed a test on the information in her book The Highly Sensitive Person, her DVD for professionals, or Psychotherapy and the Highly Sensitive Person." (Note: She adds that she does not know personally most of the people on this list.) |

Therapist certification. Not exactly an event, but starting in the spring, therapists who either read Psychotherapy and the Highly Sensitive Person or watch the 5-hour DVD made at the course I gave for therapists on October 19, can (for a fee) take a test that will be at at www.hperson.com. When they pass it (with as many chances as they need), they can be listed on the website as trained in working with HSPs. This should eventually provide HSPs with a list of licensed therapists all over the country who are knowledgeable about our trait. Nice, huh? Start warming up your favorite therapist. In the meantime, read the article "Discussing your Trait with Therapists," listed above. |
