EIPD - Emotionally Incompetent Parent Disorder

Basically, this is a "disorder" which can be recognized by the following symptoms in adolescent teens, females in particular:

Common Symptoms of EIPD

Behavioral Symptoms

  • Crying, especially crying alone in one's room at night
  • Cutting, self harm
  • Insomnia
  • Rebellious, defiant behavior
  • Lying
  • Thinking, questioning things. Starving for intelligent answers
  • Difficulty expressing feelings with feeling words
  • Inability to be emotionally honest with anyone, especially parents
  • Acting happy, as if things are fine.

Emotional Symptoms

  • Feeling unwanted
  • Feeling unloved
  • Feeling lectured to
  • Feeling alone
  • Feeling guilt-tripped
  • Feeling blamed
  • Feeling judged
  • Feeling labeled
  • Feeling invalidated
  • Feeling over-controlled
  • Feeling disapproved of
  • Feeling disappointing, inadequate
  • Feeling afraid of one's parents
  • Feelng afraid to be emotionally honest
  • Feeling self-hatred
