Emotions and emotional intelligence:

Reuven Bar-On

The Handbook of Emotional Intelligence: Theory, Development, Assessment, and Application at Home, School and in the Workplace

Note - I believe Reuven is misleading people by calling his test a test of emotional intelligence, or having so called it in the past and allowing others to continue to do so, but the book he put together has many interesting articles.

Here are my extensive notes from the book, so you can get an idea about it before you buy it. I must also warn it is a bit old now.

Referral fee from Amazon

Well, I have changed my mind again on linking to Amazon.com! I took off my links because I thought it was too much of a conflict of interest to recommend books when I was getting a kickback from them. I only made about $50 dollars in six months, so I decided it wasn't worth it. Now I have more site visitors and less money in the bank, so I am going to try it again! I will try to maintain my integrity and not recommend books unless I really think they are worthwhile. I finally concluded if you are going to buy a book you might as well buy it through this site. As you can see most of the books here I have actually read and taken notes from and a few I have read without making notes.

The way it works for all sites who link to Amazon is the site operator gets 15% of the price of the book if you buy it directly from a specific title link. If you skip around in Amazon first, though, or if you buy a different book after you get to Amazon, the referral fee drops to 5%. So if you do check out some other books, then want to buy something on my list below, please come back here and click through again. If you see "emotionalintel08' in the URL address line you know for sure I am going to get credited.

In all honesty though, I would rather see you get the books at the library! Or, a second hand bookstore. That way you aren't contributing to consumerism as much. But anyhow here are some links.

Thanks.

Steve
